Week 4

A new week and some new faces

We have had a busy start to the week. We welcomed the children back after the Easter break and had a chat about what we had done. We drew some pictures and wrote sentences about this. We designed and drew chalk activity trails for each other to try and Mrs Gallagher introduced the ‘daily mile’. After some stories about animals we chose four animals to make some sculptures of. We have started to build our structures with boxes and newspaper and plan to modroc and paint them during the week.

Wonderful Wednesday

We started the day with another mile (or a zoom on the scooters) then settled down to make spinners and sun catchers. We started to modroc the sculptures and chose to build dens and cook up a storm in the mud kitchen.

Thursday

Today we got musical and explored using the boomwhackers to play rhythms and songs. The playground got a facelift with some beautiful chalk art.  We got very messy working on our sculptures and made some animal faces with paper plates.

Fun on Friday

We finished the week with an alphabet treasure hunt, painting the sculptures and making 100th birthday cards for Major Tom Moore. The tradition of Friday treats continued as we finished the week with ice lollies.
