Music

Music is an engaging and inclusive subject that helps to develop creativity, imagination, good listening skills and the ability to express personal thoughts and feelings.  Music at Hardwick and Cambourne provides opportunities for children to take part in practical activities, both individually and in groups and widens their experience and enjoyment of music from different eras, genres and cultures. Our productions enable every child to feel valued and successful as they work together to practice and perform.  Music engages and inspires our children to develop a love of music and fosters their talents as musicians; therefore increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.

Live music

iRock live music assembly

We had a live music assembly from iRock. We all got to join in singing along to some popular songs and we even formed a band live on stage. iRock instrumental lessons have now started and we look forward to seeing the debut performances of our new bands.

Compose!

Melissa in Year 5/6 composed her own piece inspired by our 'Fighting for Freedom' topic. It is called 'Dreaming of Freedom'. What a talented musician!

Sing!

The choir took part in Young Voices in February 2025. Taking 90 children to sing at the O2. What an experience!
