Week 8
Welcome to week 8!
Hello and welcome to week 8. The children decided they would like to explore making aeroplanes. On Monday we have been very busy beginning our planes, testing materials and researching effective ways of constructing them. We have done lots of fabulous playing outside too and have been testing our engineering skills by fixing the go-karts.

On Tuesday we began with our ‘pack’ work before another fun sensory circuit session in the hall. In the afternoon we collected sticks and stones and created some pebble art of our homes.

On Wednesday morning, Year 1 and 2 made a magic flying potion. The ingredients were:
- 500ml green dragon spit
- 8 long, black, hairy spiders legs
- 30ml melted rocket boosters
- 10ml thick red slime
- 1 pigeon feather
We had to carefully measure the ingredients out using our capacity knowledge from maths and we also had a surprise when we mixed vinegar, bi carb and red food colouring together for the rocket booster liquid!

On Thursday it was Oliver’s birthday! We went on a walk around Cambourne and put up a treasure hunt for everyone to enjoy. Have you found out what the phrase is yet? In the afternoon we had some delicious birthday cake and a disco!

On Friday, after our daily English and maths, we went for a lovely walk to the lake. We fed the ducks and a swan before relaxing in the sun with some social distancing activities. In the afternoon we had an airplane show before our tradition toasted marshmallows - delicious!
