Week Beginning 18th May Jack and the Beanstalk

Jack and The Beanstalk read by Mrs Menezes

Still image for this video

This week our theme is 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.  Listen to the story. If you have the book at home, you could read it too. For your weekly challenge, we would love you to plant something this week.  It doesn't matter what you plant! It could be a broad bean, which may turn into your very own beanstalk. Or perhaps you could try to grow some cress or a sunflower! Whatever you choose to do, remember to take photographs or draw pictures as it grows and don't forget to send them to us so we can share your lovely work on the website! Email to amenezes@hardwick.cambs.sch.uk or tcamp@hardwick.cambs.sch.uk

Some other ideas for you to try!

You could do a beanstalk picture, using some bean seeds or dried beans or pulses from your kitchen cupboard!

How about making your own magic beans and using them for counting and making numbers? These were broad beans which were painted gold but you could make them any colour!

Finger gym is popular in Nursery. We do it every week to help the children build up some strength in their finger muscles! You could try it at home! Build your own beanstalk! Remember to thread carefully on that spaghetti... its very delicate!

This is quite impressive! If you have any lego or duplo at home, maybe you could build a castle for the giant?
