Little Red Riding Hood 30th November

This week we will be carrying on with our theme of 'Little Red Riding Hood'. The children have really enjoyed this story and have loved role playing the different characters. Below, you can find some ideas of things you can try at home if your child is not in Nursery this week. As always we would be glad to receive any pictures to see what you have been doing at home.  These can come to amenezes@hardwick.cambs.sch.uk or twisbey@hardwick.cambs.sch.uk

Please remember to tell us if you do not want these photographs to be shared on the website.

This week, as part of our fine motor skills activity, the children will be building pyramids or towers using wooden blocks. If they do not have wooden blocks they could build Little Red Riding Hood's house using Lego.

Our shape of the week this week is a circle. Can the children go on a shape hunt and find as many different circular objects as they can.

Give the children a selection of junk and ask them what they could use to make Little Red Riding Hoods basket. Remind them that it needs to be a strong basket to hold all the food to take to Grandma's house.

Discuss with the children where the story is set (where the story happens). Can they think of any other stories set in a forest /wood? The children could draw, paint or make their own forest.
