Money

This week we are learning about money. By the end of Year 1, children should recognise and know the value of different coins and notes. They should also add coins to make simple amounts and use 2p, 5p and 10p coins to help them to count in steps of 2s, 5s and 10s. Why not challenge your child to find small amounts at home using real coins? Piggy banks are idea for collecting coins and then counting savings! Have fun!

At the end of this money unit, there is a Twinkl booklet to practise and revise different areas of learning from Year 1 maths. You could try these activities over the next few weeks or through the summer break... smiley
