Dyslexia Awareness Week Monday 6th-Friday 10th October 2025

This week marks National Dyslexia Awareness week.

This year the theme will focus on the voices of young people with dyslexia: their challenges, stories and successes.

The National Dyslexia association estimates at least 10% of children struggle with reading and writing.

At school we will be aiming to raise awareness through discussions in classes and assemblies.

What can you do if your child finds reading or writing difficult?

Reassure them that lots of children will be feeling the same (up to 1 in 5 children find reading or writing difficult)
Read to them and encourage them to read small chunks to you
	Keep reading sessions short
Talk to their teacher and share any concerns
Look at the SEN section of the school website where you can find lots of information and sources of help
Attend an after -school dyslexia drop-in (Cambourne site): dates coming soon
