Autumn 1

From September 2021, we are following a new scheme of Work for Spanish teaching and our topic for the first half term is: Describing people/ describing friends, talking about birthdays, learning how to say/ write dates, talking about friends and learning about El día de los muertos.

 

We will learn/ revisit the following phonics sounds: [a] [o] [u] as in casa, dos and universo, [e] [i] as in elefante, idea. Strong [a] [o] [e] vowels and weak vowels [u], [i].

The following vocabulary will be our focus: estar, estoy, estás, ser soy, eres, es, cómo, quiénseñorseñora, activo, cansado, creativo,  negativo, nervioso, perdido, positivo, preparado, raro, serio, tonto, tranquilo, muy, ¡Buenos días!, ¡Buenas tardes!, hola. es, está, amigo, profesor, divertido, lento, rápido, serio, tranquilo, pesado, también, hoy, siempre, ysomosestamos, activo, cansado, contento, diferente, importante, independiente, inteligente, pero; we will revisit the months of the year, numbers, days of the week, cuál, día, fechaestánsondemasiado,  hoy, normalmente.

For grammar, we will learn/ revisit: to be, adjectival agreement, dates, there is/ are, to have
